The problem
Dowd and Guild receives hundreds of invoices each week; each invoice has to be manually entered into their ERP system. Employees read specific fields from the invoice, such as the PO number, the date, the service or product procured, and the amount; then click by click, enter the fields into their ERP. This daily data entry opened the door for human error and inconsistency.
In addition to the human error component, Dowd and Guild’s team spent upwards of seven hours daily, just to handle the data entry that accompanied the invoices. This was not sustainable, and Dowd and Guild began to look for a solution with long term scalability.
The solution
Dowd and Guild recognized that they needed a solution, and they needed it fast. The Emma team met with Dowd and Guild and customized parsers to read their specific high volume vendor invoices. With these custom parsers, the invoices would be read and entered into their ERP 100% accurate every time, saving the company worries regarding data entry errors.
Emma understood that the month end close was taking valuable time and energy. Emma designed Dowd and Guild’s bot to seamlessly compile reports and reconcile accounts to enable same day close at month's end.
The results
What used to take Dowd and Guild employees 4-7 hours every day is now offloaded onto the Bot.
